Temperature, salinity, pressure, and transmissivity profile data from R/V Thomas G. Thompson off the coast of northern Oregon and southern Washington in 1979 and 1981 (NCEI Accession 0115413)

This set of hydrographic casts are from two cruises. These cruises were part of a Department of Energy sponsored program entitled *Pollutant Transport and Sediment Dispersal in the Washington-Oregon Coastal Zone*. The program included CTD temperature, salinity, pressure and transmissivity observations. The focus of the multidisciplinary study was to investigate coastal upwelling, in particular, how along-isobath currents on a continental shelf are affected by the presence of a broad submarine canyon and quantify the distribution of productivity of phytoplankton and nutrient in the coastal zone.
