The role of the gut microbiota in modulating responses to cancer immunotherapy has gained increasing attention in recent years. In this project, we aim to explore this relationship by establishing a biobank of bacterial isolates from fecal samples of cancer patients undergoing immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. By isolating and sequencing gut bacteria from patients with differing responses to treatment, we seek to identify microbial signatures or species that may influence therapeutic outcomes. This work will enable the characterization of previously unstudied taxa and contribute to understanding the functional role of the microbiome in shaping immune responses.
