资源简介:
This is the ninth in a series of reports presented to provide a summary of current field activities within the Missouri River Basin. Twenty-three field parties, representing one federal and seven state agencies, participated in the Inter-Agency Archaeological Salvage Program within the Missouri Basin during the summer of 1964. Fourteen parties were fielded by the Missouri Basin Project of the Smithsonian Institution. Eleven of these worked within the Oahe, Big Bend, and Fort Randall reservoirs of North Dakota and South Dakota. The Smithsonian also had parties in the Rathbun Reservoir of Iowa and the Wyoming segment of the Yellowtail Reservoir. State Universities, museums and historical societies, cooperating with the National Park Service, conducted excavations and surveys at reservoir areas in North Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, South Dakota and Kansas.
