Location of 82 methane point sources in Shanxi, China

These data were generated to investigate the coal mine methane (CMM) emitters. GF-5B provided hyperspectral cubes, and a matched filter algorithm was used to obtain the XCH4 enhancement maps. The methane plumes were extracted by visual interpretation and these high spatial resolution images. Some of the results were assessed using on-site measurements to confirm the ability to detect the methane emission sources by hyperspectral cubes. The location of point sources detected is provided in .kmz format., According to the satellite data documentation, the hyperspectral data needs radiometric calibration and RPC Orthorectification.
