From 2014 to 2022, the percentage of female high school students in the United States (U.S.) who participated in the advanced placement (AP) computer science exam increased by 11 percentage points. Nonetheless, female students continue to remain the minority when taking AP computer science exams, representing around 31 percent of AP computer science exam takers in 2022.
