Spatial variation of sediment methanogens within a productive temperate reservoir

This project evaluated the spatial variation in methane production rates, sediment characteristics including organic matter source, and methanogen communities at 15 sites within a eutrophic reservoir in Ohio, USA. The goals were to evaluation how organic matter source and quantity affect methane production rates along a riverine to lacustrine gradient of the reservoir, and to evaluate the associated methanogen communities.
