Ecology lab 2

Observations and data were collected at York University in the grasslands near Boyers woodlot concerning the plant species Aster prenamthoids. A 20 meter transect was placed, the plant species Aster prenanthoides was selected as the target species and 20 plants along the transect were observed. The plant number was recorded as well as the distance of the plant on a transect in cm was recorded. A rank from 0 to 3 was given for the level of crowding around the plants 0 meaning open, 1 for some plants nearby, 2 for quite a few plants nearby and lastly 3 for very crowded. The physical features of the Aster prenanthoides were also observed which included the height of the plant, number of flowers and approximate number of leaves.
