Effect of vitamin D supplementation on liver transcriptome in pigs, estimated by 3`quant mRNA-seq

We report the anaysis of the effect of the supplementation of pigs feed with high doses of vitamin D on the liver transcriptome. We observed significant changes in the expression of genes connected mostly to lipid metabolism. Overall design: Animals were kept in individual straw-bedded pens with free access to water. At the 85th day of life, pigs were randomly assigned to one of 3 groups so that animals from one litter were divided among alll three groups. Pigs were fed with isoprotein and isoenergetic feeds differing only in the amount of vitamin D (0, 5000, 10000 IU/kg of feed). Experiment was continued for 90 days.
