Clinical and epidemiological profile of patients with diabetes mellitus in a primary care setting in Mexico: dataset

This dataset contains anonymized clinical and epidemiological information on patients diagnosed with diabetes mellitus who received primary care in Mexico.

The data were obtained from clinical records and structured for quantitative analysis in clinical research.

It includes:

Sociodemographic variables (age and biological sex)Clinical characteristics (type of diabetes, comorbidities, and family history)Anthropometric variables (weight, height, and body mass index)Metabolic control indicators (fasting glucose)Treatment-related variables (type of initial and current treatment)

Categorical variables were numerically coded to facilitate statistical analysis, and their correspondence is described in the variable dictionary.

The database includes records from the period between July 2020 and July 2021, selected to ensure the integrity of the information and its representativeness in the primary care setting.

Ethical considerations:The data used in this dataset are derived from a study previously approved by a research ethics committee. The information was anonymized and therefore does not contain data that would allow for the identification of participants.
