Section 146 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act) requires that Local Councils prepare a bush fire prone land map identifying vegetation within the LGA that has the potential to support a bush fire. The bush fire prone land map is the trigger for the consideration of bush fire protection measures for new development.
