Whole-genome sequencing of freshwater diatom Synedra acus subsp. radians (Fragilaria radians)

Diatoms are the diverse group of unicellular photosynthetic eukaryotes with complex evolutionary history. They possess many intriguing features such as specific biochemical pathways (e.g. urea cycle), silicfified cell wall, important role in global biogeochemical cycles etc. Projects targeting the complete genome sequence of several diatom species have been finished so far.Here we provide NGS data on gDNA libraries of several axenic strains of freshwater araphid pennate diatom Synedra acus subsp. radians (Fragilaria radians).
