The invention relates to a supplementary support assembly (60) for a workpiece support assembly (50) of a semi-stationary machine tool (20)， particularly a machine saw， wherein a workpiece support body (51) of the workpiece support assembly (50) has a base supporting surface (53)， which is substantially horizontal in use， for supporting a workpiece (W1，W2) for processing， particularly for sawing (SX) by a tool (24) of the machine tool (20)， wherein the supplementary support assembly has a supplementary supporting surface (81) and a support body (70) with support body mounting means (61) for detachably mounting on the workpiece support assembly (50)， wherein when the supplementary support assembly is mounted on the workpiece support assembly (50) the supplementary supporting surface (81) is at least substantially aligned with the base supporting surface (53). The supplementary support assembly comprises a support body (80) which is mounted by means of a support body bearing (85) comprising a sliding bearing (85A) and/or a pivoting bearing (85B) on the support body (70) to be movable between at least two different positions relative to the base supporting surface (53) and can be detachably fixed on the support body (70) in the relative positions by means of supporting body fixing means (66)， wherein the supporting body (80) comprises the supplementary supporting surface (81) and/or forms a mounting base for a transverse stop body (90) which may be detachably mounted on the supporting body (80) by means of stop body fixing means (99) and has at least one transverse stop face (93， 94) which is at an angle to the supplementary supporting surface (81)， particularly at a right-angle thereto.
