Metagenomics sequencing of biofilm on biological activated carbon

Previous studies had reported that the existence of PFASs can stimulate microorganism to secret more extracellular polymeric substance. But whether long-time trace PFASs could change biofilm metabolisms and microbial risks on biological activated carbon was still unclear. In this work, we constructed two granular activated carbon columns and explored the effects of ng-level PFASs addition on biofilm growth, microbial community alternation, microbial function regulation and antibiotic resistance risks.
