Genomic analyses of an Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae urinary tract co-infection in the UK using long-read nanopore sequencing

Two bacterial strains (E. coli and K. pneumoniae) were recovered from the same urine catheter specimen sample. These strains presented with the same antibiotic phenotypic resistance profile. Whole genome sequencing (WGS) was undertaken to determine whether the strains shared a similar resistance encoding plasmid.
