Spatial and temporal trends of marine sediment biodiversity

This project contains raw reads for metabarcoding analyses of different organism groups (prokaryotes, meiofauna, macrobenthos) in marine sediments from the Belgian part of the North Sea. Prokaryotes are identified with the 16S marker gene, meiofauna with the 18S marker gene and macrobenthos with the COI marker gene. The goal of this dataset is to understand the drivers of diversity patterns in marine sediments and how they might respond to current and future environmental disturbances.
