Copernicus GLO-90 Digital Elevation Model (DEM) – 250 m Aggregated Continental and Global Mosaics (v1.1)

Description:This dataset provides aggregated 250 m resolution elevation mosaics derived from the Copernicus Global Digital Elevation Model (GLO-90) v1.1. The original 90 m tiles (European Space Agency, 2021) were mosaicked and mean-aggregated to 250 m using the R package terra (aggregate function; fact = 3, fun = mean), producing seamless continental and biogeographic composites suitable for ecological, biogeographic, and macroecological applications. Each GeoTIFF was exported with LZW compression, internal tiling, and BigTIFF support using the writeRaster function in terra, and distributed as compressed .zip archives. These mosaics are designed to serve as base elevation layers for deriving terrain metrics (slope, TRI, TPI, roughness, HLI, TWI) or for use in large-scale environmental modeling. All rasters are in geographic coordinates (EPSG:4326, WGS84 datum).
