VPRS 11943 Register of Submissions to Cabinet Committees, Cain/Kirner Government

This series was created by the Cabinet Office to record the receipt and handling of submissions to Cabinet Committees from about 1985 to December 1986. Although this series was created solely in the period the government was led by John Cain, the series title is attributed to the government led by him and his successor as Premier, Joan Kirner. This was done to facilitate the identification of Cabinet series created by this government. The Committees covered by this register and relevant series containing the submissions were: -- Priorities, Planning and Strategies Committee: VPRS 11937 -- Economics Committee: VPRS 11942 -- Social Development Committee: VPRS 11940 -- Urban Infrastructure Committee: VPRS 11938 -- Rural Affairs Committee: VPRS 11941 -- Natural Resources and Environment Committee: VPRS 11939. The register also was used to record the receipt of two submissions pertaining to the Transport  Committee of Cabinet, but these were never found. The use of this register ceased with the introduction of a computerised registration and tracking system for submissions and the filing of Committee submissions in the full Cabinet sequence at the start of 1987.
