OOWL500

The OOWL500 dataset was developed by a research team at the University of California, San Diego, to mitigate biases in wild field data collection, especially those caused by professional photography and perspective distortions. This dataset contains 120,000 images across 500 distinct objects, where each object is photographed from 8 different perspectives, resulting in 240 images per object. During the development process, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) were used to circle the target objects and precisely control the shooting angles to further reduce biases. The OOWL500 dataset can be applied in object recognition, deep learning, and image classification, with the goal of improving the generalization ability and robustness of object recognition algorithms.
