Data from: Sibling number and early interactions shape social competence for life

Data showing that growing up in a small brood (SB), large brood (LB) or in large broods with restricted opportunities for interactions (4x8) can affect the type of social behaviours expressed during early life. In addition, we showed that growing up in an SB, 4x8 or LB group can affect social competence later in life and can affect individual fitness. Therefore, these results show that social competence arises not from the number of individuals or interactions alone, but from the combination of both.
