Global curated OBIS marine occurrence dataset.

This dataset contains OBIS marine occurrence records resulting from spatial (excluding depth), temporal, and taxonomic curation. It comprises 64,097,370 records and has an uncompressed size of approximately 34 GB. The dataset was generated from a marine-restricted OBIS dataset (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.22729619) using the marinedb Python package. It was developed as part of a broader effort to assemble a large-scale marine biodiversity dataset suitable for species distribution modeling. Original source fields were retained where relevant, alongside processed variables and new fields generated during the curation workflow. This source-level curated dataset thus preserves a rich set of source-specific information and metadata, making it suitable for direct use as well as for further inspection, filtering, or adaptation to specific applications.
