Raw U.S. Oil & Gas Data

MineralAnswers.com aggregates data on oil and gas wells from nearly 20 state regulatory agencies and other sources. These agencies publish their data in a variety of formats (CSV files, shapefiles, database dumps, etc). We’ve taken these disparate data sets and exported them as CSV files for easier consumption.

Each state contains raw CSV files containing information needed to construct and analyze data on drilling permits, oil and gas production, well specifications and statistics. The data in this offering has been minimally altered from the source data to allow data scientists to perform their own transformations, calculations and other modifications for their specific needs.

The states in this combined data set include: AL, AK, AR, CA, CO, KS, LA, MI, MS, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TX, UT, WV and WY.
