资源简介:
This study aims to investigate Brucella ceti infections in stranded marine mammals along the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region (Portugal). By determining prevalence rates, identifying species, exploring phylogenetic relationships, and conducting comparative genomic analyses, this research provides valuable insights into the occurrence and characteristics of B. ceti in dolphins. The first-ever isolation of B. ceti from dolphins along the Portuguese coastline highlights its potential significance for marine ecosystems and raises concerns about zoonotic risks. These findings emphasize the need for expanded studies and advanced diagnostic approaches to better understand the ecological and public health implications of Brucella infections in marine mammals.
