Raw sequence reads of Plasmodium falciparum clinical isolates that were evaluated for ex vivo drug sensitivities

Emerging antimalarial resistance threatens malaria control. The goal of this study is to characterize changes in antimalarial sensitivities by a) routinely evaluating ex vivo drug sensitivities of Plasmodium falciparum parasites collected from patients with clinical malaria in Uganda, b) using molecular inversion probes to generate deep sequencing data for genes implicated in antimalarial resistance. These activities allow for surveillance of phenotypic changes in antimalarial sensitivity and evaluation of known and novel markers of antimalarial resistance that can help elucidate mechanisms of resistance and provide additional tools for surveillance.
