VPRS 3422 Cash Book is a record of the expenditure of monies by the Royal Zoological and Acclimatisation Society of Victoria (VA 3123) for the management and operation of the Royal Melbourne Zoological Gardens. The date range is 1861-67. The volume records the debit and credit to accounts for such purposes as food and forage, salaries and wages and the purchase of animals. As a cash book record the information recorded in this volume would later have been posted to the relevant ledger account. The Ledger is not in PROV custody.
