Raw Phenotype Data

Raw phenotype data of quail from across the hybrid zone. Plumage color trait values were calculated with the MicaToolbox plugin in ImageJ, and are presented with separate measures for Hue, Saturation, and Value. The trait "proportion_scaling" is a measure of the scaling pattern on the vent of birds (present in C. californica and absent in C. gambelii) and was measured as the proportion of black pixels within a standard ROI on the breast after thresholding images in ImageJ to pure black and white values (see manuscript Appendix for details). Mass, plume length, and throat length are morphometric values that were measured in the field.
