Study of human olfactory bulb cell structure in psychiatric disorders

Our project investigates human olfactory bulb (OB) morphological changes at the cellular level, focusing on glomerular structures and mitral and tufted cells in normal state and schizophrenia (Sch). Using holographic nano-tomography, we aim to correlate OB morphological degeneration with psychiatric disorders. Previous studies using X-ray phase contrast micro-tomography provided detailed 3D images but lacked sufficient resolution for full cellular analysis.
