Taxonomic 16S rDNA analysis of microbial communities that inhabit surface water and sediments of the Black Sea in the region of Odessa city, Ukraine. Bacterial diversity of the Black Sea marine sediments and surface water along the coast of Odessa

The Black Sea presents an absolutely unique and interesting marine ecosystem. It is characterised by existence of two clear not mixingoxic and anoxic layers. Therefore it provides different environmental conditions for resident microbiota. The aim of this study was to provide a complex investigation of the Black Sea microbial communities using metagenomic 16S rDNA analysis. Amplicon sequencing was performed on Illumina Miseq platform. The results showed highly complex procaryotic communities especially in sediments' samples. The microbial diversity in studied region of the Black Sea was characterised by distribution of typical marine bacteria like Proteobacteria, Bacteroidets, Actinobacteria, Cyanobacteria and others.
