P. praeruptorum is the one of widely used Chinese medicinal crop and also listed in each version Pharmacopeia of China. It is the main coumarins resource of TCM for its rich in all five types of coumarins. However, its biosynthesis mechanism remains far from unambiguous. To identify the candidate genes involved in coumarins biosynthesis, we firstly sequenced the genome of P. praeruptorum for the rarely genome information in coumarins-producing plants.
