THE USE OF LETTER-BASED LITERARY DEVICES IN THE WORKS OF KOMIL KHOREZMIY

Abstract: This article examines the use of letter-based literary devices in the works of Komil Khorezmiy, one of the prominent representatives of nineteenth-century Uzbek classical literature. The study analyzes the theoretical foundations and artistic-aesthetic functions of kitābat (graphic representation of letters), istikhraj (derivation of hidden words from letters), and muammo (enigmatic poetry) found in the poet’s Divan. It also explores the role of these literary devices in enriching poetic meaning, strengthening artistic expression, and encouraging intellectual reflection on the part of the reader. The findings demonstrate that Komil Khorezmiy employed letter-based literary devices not merely as ornamental elements but as important poetic techniques for conveying profound artistic ideas and enhancing the semantic depth of his poetry.
