Pectobacterium carotovorum Genome sequencing and assembly. Pectobacterium carotovorum strain:Ecc71

Soft rot is one of the most destructive plan diseases. The disease is caused by bacteria in the Pectobacterium and Dickeya genera (formally Erwinia) collectively referred to as soft rot enterobacteriaceae (SRE). P. carotovorum is one of the most widely-distributed SRE with a very broad host range of over 80 plant species. Strain Ecc71 has been used in many studies of host-microbe interaction to understand soft rot disease. The goal of this project is to obtain the genome sequence of P. carotovorum strain Ecc71.
