Nepal Earthquake 2023 - Analysis outputs

On 3 November 2023, an earthquake with high macroseismic intensity categorized at 5.7 on the Richter scale struck western Nepal at 23.47 (UTC +5:45). The initial earthquake was followed by several aftershocks with similar magnitudes. The earthquakes impacted several districts in Karnali province, mainly Jajarkot and Rukum West, and have caused loss of life and injuries across the region. The Data in Emergencies (DIEM) team at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) examined satellite images over this period to understand the impact.
