Our study showed that RNEA could significantly delay aging in mice treated with D-galactose, and the antiaging effect of RNEA might be achieved by reshaping the intestinal flora homeostasis, increasing the expression of GPx4 in the intestine and liver, enhancing the activity of GSH-Px and reinforcing the antioxidant system of glutathione. In addition to providing key evidence of the importance of RNEA-reshaped gut microbes in enhancing the activity of GSH-Px, this study lays the groundwork for further studying how the RNEA-altered gut microbiota affects the host's glutathione peroxidase activity.
