Data and code for: Radical oncological prostatectomy in Brazil's public health system as a baseline for robotic surgery implementation, 2014–2025

This repository contains the aggregated analytical datasets, data dictionary, statistical scripts, tables, and reproducible figures used in the study "Radical oncological prostatectomy in Brazil’s public health system as a baseline for robotic surgery implementation, 2014–2025". The study evaluates hospital production of radical oncological prostatectomy in the Brazilian Unified Health System before the implementation of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy, with emphasis on temporal trends, hospital burden, regional concentration, and the relationship between surgical production and hospitalizations for prostate cancer. The repository includes aggregated data from SIH/SUS/DATASUS, population denominators from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, and inflation correction factors based on the Brazilian Extended National Consumer Price Index. It also includes processed analytical files and scripts used to calculate rates, surgical-to-hospital-burden ratios, inflation-adjusted costs, concentration measures, and figures. All data are public, aggregated, and contain no individual-level or identifiable patient information.
