Phylogeny of the genus Clerodendrum (Lamiaceae)

The phylogenetic study of the genus Clerodendrum (Lamiaceae) aims to provide the phylogenetic relationships and the infrageneric classification. Due to previous unresolved relationships and insufficient taxon sampling, it is necessary to revise the morphology-base classification using molecular evidence. The Angiosperms353 probes is invented to obtain data using a target-sequencing. The results reveal that Clerodendrum resolve a monophyletic relationship for Asian and African clades. A total of 13 sections are recognise in this study which are all congruent with morphological evidence and molecular placements.
