Whole exome sequencing of a rare colorectal cancer presenting ovarian metastases

To gain biological insights into ovary metastases from colon adenocarcinoma , we compared the exome sequencing profiles of primary colon cancer and paired ovary metastases. We used exome sequencing at 200X coverage to profile somatic mutations in primary colon cancer and synchronous ovary metastases. Three patients who were pathologically diagnosed with colon cancer, with ovary metastases, were included in this study. The subjects were recruited from Gachon Gil Medical Center (Gachon University, South Korea), and the study was approved by the Institutional Review Board of Gachon University Gil Medical Center (IRB#GIRBA2216). The participants provided written consent for research use of their tumor samples. The patients were chemo-naive at the time of primary colon surgery and were diagnosed with ovary metastasis at the time of first operation. **NOTE: Due to storage crush, dataset (FASTQ) file of patient_8 (patient_8_N, patient_8_T, and patient_8_OV) were available. For two patients (patient_5 and patient_9), processed data files (mutation SNV and INDEL callings) are only available.
