Several DNA metabarcoding markers were amplified an sequenced in a mock crime scene study including six locations in Copenhagen, Denmark. Five reference samples and one item of interest (soil on shoes) were collected from each locality. DNA was extracted and amplified with several markers (primer sets targeting bacteria, fungi, protists, eukaryotes and plants, respectively).
