NRS-13400 | Factory Survey: Replies to Questionnaire

The questionnaire was designed to discover essential details of most of the city's manufacturers - the type of land the particular industry required; if it was located or needed to be located near its source of raw materials, the waterfront, a rail siding, a main road, various power supplies, a special type of labour, seasonal labour, its markets or associated industries, etc.; as well as details of buildings and land and plans for expansion. The replies were filled in on a stencilled form by the factories and returned to the Civic Survey: Research Division for computation and eventual publication. These records were created by the Cumberland County Council and taken over by the State Planning Authority. (6/1031). 1 box.
