Annual report of air quality measurements in Austria 2017.

The annual report provides an overview of the air quality measurements of the federal states and the Federal Environment Agency for 2017. The measurement results show: The limit value for the annual average value for nitrogen dioxide in accordance with the Immission Control Act-Air (IG-L) was exceeded at 28 measuring points in eight federal states. The main drivers of the load are diesel vehicles. For particulate matter (PM10), the IG-L limit value for the daily average value was not complied with at six measuring points in Graz and Leibnitz. In the case of benzo(a)pyrene, sulphur dioxide and dust precipitation (including lead), isolated exceedances were measured in accordance with IG-L. The target values for ozone were exceeded in most of Austria. The IG-L limits and targets for carbon monoxide, particulate matter (PM2.5), heavy metals and benzene were met throughout Austria in 2017.
