This publication provides a reproducible computational framework for processing and analyzing earthquake strong-motion data to evaluate seismic design provisions for floor diaphragms and higher-mode dynamic responses in earthquake-resistant buildings. The dataset focuses on earthquake engineering applications involving instrumented California buildings monitored through the California Strong Motion Instrumentation Program (CSMIP), using strong-motion acceleration records obtained from the Center for Engineering Strong Motion Data (CESMD). The published materials include a Jupyter Notebook workflow, supporting Python scripts, input metadata files, processed analysis tables, and documentation required to reproduce the computational framework. The dataset enables users to process measured building acceleration records, estimate structural dynamic properties, compute floor spectral response quantities, and compare measured floor acceleration demands with code-based design acceleration estimates associated with ASCE/SEI 7-22 diaphragm provisions. The framework is intended to support reproducibility of the associated published research, independent validation, educational use, and future methodological extensions in structural dynamics and seismic engineering. This dataset may be useful to researchers, practicing engineers, and students interested in seismic design validation, strong-motion data interpretation, higher-mode response effects, and performance assessment of earthquake-resistant structural systems.
