Vietnam rice sector database: VSS

These three datasets included original data collected to analyze the adoption of Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSSs) in Vietnam’s rice sector: (i) rice farmers (110 observations), (ii) policymakers (5 observations), and (iii) representatives of farmers’ organizations (7 observations). These three datasets were used to conduct the empirical analysis for the manuscript “Voluntary sustainability standards in the rice sector under the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement: Evidence from the Mekong Delta”. Along with other relevant variables, the rice farmers dataset incorporated a Human Capital Index constructed for surveyed farmers, capturing key dimensions of education, skills, and the adoption of personal protective equipment.
