This sequencing project was intended to genotype recombinant inbred lines (RILs) of the copepod Tigriopus californicus.RILs were generated by crossing individuals from two populations from Southern Califonia, San Diego (SD) and Bird Rock (BR) in a reciprocal design. After the second generation was produced, individual clutches of eggs (which are always composed of full siblings) were isolated to initiate lines. The lines were then propagated in parallel with strict full-sib mating per generation, for a total of 5 generations of full inbreeding. After the fifth generation, each line was allowed to mate freely to increase the number of individuals, generating inbred RILs that can be used for genotype-phenotype association studies.
