IL-4/IL-13 Inhibitors for Atopic Dermatitis Induce Psoriatic Rash Transcriptionally Close to Pustular Psoriasis

Dupilumab is an antibody targeting the IL-4/IL-13 receptors indicated for atopic dermatitis patients, but paradoxical psoriasis-like reactions have been reported under treatment. To understand the pathogenesis of DI-Pso, we performed a gene expression profiling study using microarray on skin biopsies of dupilumab-induced psoriasis, plaque psoriasis and AD compared with healthy control skin. We selected paraffined-embebded skin biopsies of dupilumab-induced-psoriasis (n=7), plaque psoriasis (n=4), atopic dermatitis (n=4) and 4 healthy control skin samples for RNA extraction and hybridization on Affymetrix microarrays.
