Design: A randomized controlled trial Setting: Outpatient fertility clinic a tertiary university hospital Population: Women between the ages 18 to 52 years; with a clear indication for operative hysteroscopy such as a polyp or type 0/1 fibroid measuring < 2cm, or < 4 cm total when more than 1 lesion was present. Interventions: Patients were randomized into 2 groups: group 1 underwent hysteroscopic morcellation by standard technique (paracervical block and cervical dilation), group 2 underwent hysteroscopic morcellation by vaginoscopy. The primary outcome measured was the participant’s self-rated pain perception using the 10-point visual analog scale after the procedure. The secondary outcomes included duration of the intervention, blood loss, any other reported complication and time to pregnancy.
