DEVELOPING TASK-SUPPORTED MATERIALS FOR IMPROVING COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE AT THE B1-B2 LEVEL LEARNERS

This article explores the development of task-supported materials aimed at improving communicative competence among B1–B2 level English language learners. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating communicative tasks into language teaching materials in order to enhance learners’ speaking, listening, interactional, and problem-solving skills. The research is based on modern communicative language teaching principles and task-based learning approaches that encourage authentic language use in meaningful contexts. Various classroom tasks such as role plays, information-gap activities, collaborative discussions, and real-life simulations were analyzed to determine their effectiveness in fostering communicative competence. The findings indicate that task-supported materials significantly increase learner engagement, fluency, confidence, and interactive ability. Moreover, these materials help learners develop pragmatic and sociolinguistic competence alongside grammatical accuracy. The article concludes that carefully designed communicative tasks provide an effective framework for improving language proficiency at the intermediate level and contribute to learner-centered English language instruction.
