Supporting Data for "Constructing and Negotiating Digital Heritage Authenticity: Multimodal Representation and Audience Authentication"
收藏资源简介:
This dataset provides the processed research materials supporting the study “Constructing and Negotiating Digital Heritage Authenticity: Multimodal Representation and Audience Authentication.” The study examines how digital heritage authenticity is constructed through multimodal representation and subsequently authenticated, extended, reinterpreted, or contested by audiences on YouTube across three heritage settings: Chaozhou, Singapore Chinatown, and George Town. The dataset contains five components: (1) metadata for the full sample of 90 YouTube videos; (2) multimodal coding data for the 30-video in-depth sample; (3) anonymized audience-authentication coding; (4) 148 creator–audience claim-response pairs used for claim-level analysis; and (5) a codebook and README documenting variables, coding rules, analytical categories, and data provenance. To protect user privacy and respect third-party platform content, identifiable usernames, user IDs, profile information, full raw comment archives, complete video files, and full transcripts are not redistributed. The deposited files contain processed and anonymized data sufficient to document the analytical procedures and support verification of the reported findings. The dataset supports analyses of multimodal authenticity configurations, contextual variation across heritage settings, audience authentication, interpretive alignment and divergence, scale shifting, and creator–audience relations in digital heritage communication. Access to the deposited files is restricted to protect user privacy and respect third-party platform content. Access requests may be considered for legitimate scholarly research, replication, or verification purposes.
