KPB Strategic Fuel Break

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) continues working with stakeholders, including Alaska Division of Forestry, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Cook Inlet Region, Inc (CIRI), Chugachmiut, Alaska Department of Fish & Game, U.S. Forest Service, as well as private landowners to develop a strategic fuel break. These are prebuilt "containment" areas that also provide time and options to fire managers, as well as access to active wildfires. This dataset contains areas of "Completed" fuel break sections, as provided by FWS in August 2024. Several sections will be completed in September 2024, and further sections are planned for year 2025.美国鱼类及野生动物管理局（U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, FWS）正联合阿拉斯加林业部、基奈半岛自治市镇、库克湾地区公司（Cook Inlet Region, Inc, CIRI）、楚加奇米特部落、阿拉斯加鱼类与狩猎部、美国林务局及私人土地所有者等利益相关方，推进战略性防火隔离带的规划建设工作。此类区域为预先构筑的阻火控制区域，既能为火灾管理人员争取处置时间、提供作业方案，也可为活跃野火的扑救作业提供通路。本数据集收录了美国鱼类及野生动物管理局于2024年8月提供的‘已完成’防火隔离带区段范围。另有多个区段将于2024年9月完工，其余区段则计划于2025年实施。
