Introduction of oncological case managers in the center of gastrointestinal tumors at the University Hospital Freiburg - An interventional study to analyse the influence on the treatment of oncological patients

Interventions: Group 1: Routine care Group 2: Patient care by case-managers; preparation of medical records with the checklist, contact with the patient before and after an initial consultation with the doctor, informative talks, contacts throughout the treatment period. Primary outcome(s): The primary objective of the study is, regarding the impact of the establishment of a case-manager on patient care to measure the a) course of treatment according to the treatment pathways (patient safety) b.) compliance with the time schedule (Patient care) c.) information of the patient (Patient-orientation) d) Satisfaction with care (Patient satisfaction) Study Design: Allocation: Randomized controlled study; Masking: Blinded (masking used); Control: active; Assignment: parallel; Study design purpose: health services research
