资源简介:
The research project titled "Decontamination of pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables by using microbial agents" by a Ph.D. Research Scholar from the Department of Agricultural Entomology, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, India, focuses on the whole-genome sequencing of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) strains. These strains were isolated from fresh fruits, vegetables, and fermented food sources, and were selected for their potential to degrade pesticide residues. Comprehensive laboratory and field studies have confirmed that these LAB strains can effectively degrade various groups of pesticides present in food matrices. The genomic characterization of these bacterial isolates is aimed at identifying the genetic mechanisms underlying their biodegradation capabilities. This supports their potential application as eco-friendly agents for reducing pesticide residue levels in food products and agricultural environments. These LAB strains offer promising benefits for enhancing food safety for consumers, encouraging sustainable agricultural practices, and contributing to environmental protection through biological remediation of pesticides.
