Surface sediment geochemistry in the southern Romanian EEZ 2023-2024 (H2020 BRIDGE-BS project)

Dataset contains geochemistry data collected along the Mangalia - East transect, in the Romanian southern EEZ (bottom depths between 15 and 1160 m), within the period February 2023 - July 2024. Data were collected during three BRIDGE -BS cruises carried out onboard R/V Mare Nigrum in February 2023 (cruise MN238), June 2023 (cruise MN242), and July 2024 (cruise MN260). Top layer sediment was collected using either a boxcorer (0.1 m2), in February and June 2023, or Van Veen grab sampler (0.125 m2), in July 2024. Sediment samples were further analyzed in the GeoEcoMar lab for major (TOC, CaCO3, Fe) and minor (Mn, Ti) components, trace elements (by X-ray fluorescence), and PAHs (by UPLC, for the July 2024 cruise), as well as  in the NIMRD lab, for PCBs, pesticides (by GC-ECD), and PAHs (by GC-MS, for the February 2023 cruise).
