We used metagenomic sequencing to investigate the soil bacterial functional genes involved in carbon (C), nitrogen (N), and phosphorus (P) cycling in a 16-year experiment comparing mixed plantations with the broadleaf tree, Betula luminifera introduced into plantations of Cunninghamia lanceolata compared to pure plantations.
